Area wrestlers have strong showing on first day of nationals

Five Section 1 wrestlers won their first two matches at the High School Nationals in Virginia Beach, Va. yesterday.

Yorktown junior Mike Ahearn, Ardsley sophomores Danny Manley and Derrick Longo, Carmel sophomore Mike Rose and Mahopac freshman Justis Flamio each were 2-0 with one match remaining late last night.

Harrison junior Mark Arcara went 1-1 and also had one more match to wrestle last night.
